Game Time!

As I noted in my last post- my dog always seems to make an appearance in a lot of my photo's. Let's play a game like Where's Waldo.... Where's Parker!??
Aha, did you notice... the second to last picture is not my dog, I just want to make sure you are paying attention!

Breckenridge

Caleb, Austin & I headed up to Breck for the weekend to relax and squeeze in one more day on the slopes. On Saturday the weather was beautiful but the snow wasn't so beautiful. The mountain was a massive ice chunk.
Caleb left his ski boots in the car overnight and they were so frozen he couldn't get them on his feet. He tried to warm them up in the oven.

Look at all that snow! The space between the snow mounds is a path to the side door of the house. Parker was excited, more clean snow for him to pee on.

The Roofle

For Christmas our dog Parker got a whole bag of goodies from Austin's mom, Sandy. We are still going through them. He can't have too many at one time, he's watching his weight for the wedding. Tonight I gave him a Roofle. It looks like a waffle and smells like maple syrup. Parker was scared of it and I had to coax him into trying it because I was tired of watching him carry it around the house.

Pink Nose

This week has been pretty quiet since I got sick. Until I feel better I won't have anything eventful to post about because I will be going to work and then coming home to veg & recoop. In the meantime... here is Parker. His nose gets more pink by the day. He's the greatest dog ever!

Snow!

We were up in Breckenridge and saw our first snow of the season!
Parker loves it when we go for a hike. The great thing about Colorado is that you can find a dirt road, drive and drive and drive up, eventually you find a deserted spot to hike. I love it when we find an empty spot because we can take Parker off his leash and he runs wild!

So Fresh & So Clean... Yet Still Fuzzy

A clean puppy is a happy puppy. Actually, that is a lie, Parker hates baths. He would much rather be a dirty smelly fluff ball. I have to tie his leash to a chair and feed him lots of dog treats to keep him sane. I suppose I should say- A clean puppy makes a happy puppy mom.

Mt. Bierstadt

We climbed a fourteener (over 14,000 feet elevation)! Mt. Bierstadt is known as one of the "easier" fourteeners in Colorado but... it's still not easy!!! It took us a total of about 5 hours. When I say "we" I mean me and my dad. The boys all sped up ahead but me and the padre took a slower pace. My mom was stuck with their dog Elvis, he's an old pup but he still enjoyed himself. It was a lot harder than I expected but we had a great time and I am glad I finished it! In the picture above Mt. Bierstadt is the peak on the very right. This was when we were still in the valley about to start our climb.
Here is Caleb at the top.
At the top! When you get close to the tippity-top there isn't really a trail to follow. You have to make your own trail along huge rocks and boulders. My dad was not a big fan of this part.

Sushi Night

Our back yard still looks like a jungle but Austin brightened it up with some sunflowers and a little patio dinner he picked up from the sushi place down the street. This is my absolute favorite kind of "dining out"!

Monday Night Picnic

We had a delightful picnic tonight at the lake. It looks so pretty when the sun is going down over the mtns (you can't really see the mountains though, it was a tad bit cloudy). There was a neat itty-bitty sliver of a moon too but my camera battery died.

A Happy Place

St. Mary's Glacier is my favorite place! Parker and I went by ourselves to have some bonding time. If you look really hard you can see some people far far away, climbing up the snow. They are carrying skiis. Since there is snow on the glacier year round a lot of people come here to hike up and ski down.

When we were kids my parents would take us up here in the summer and we would slide down in trashbags or just slide on down and soak our clothes. It was so fun!!! Parker was being a grump and didn't feel like skiing or sledding so we just watched. If you click on the picture you'll be able to see the people a little bit better.

Male Model-Before & After

Parker used to be a mutt model but recently his looks have taken a turn for the worst. He has some strange Michael Jackson skin disease where he looses pigmentation in his hair. His nose changed from black to a purple/gray color. He's turning white all over and loosing hair on his face. He used to be all black and brown, no white at all! Poor guy is only 2 years old. I'm supposed to put sunscreen on the top of his nose (that is where he's lost the most hair) but he just licks it off, it's impossible....and I thought putting sunscreen on a toddler was hard! Unfortunatly this genetic thing does not calm him down at all, he still runs in circles at a dizzying pace.

Don't Tell

A good Puppy Mom lets the dog sleep in the bed when the Puppy Dad is out of town. Shhhhh.... don't tell.

Thunder & Lightning Oh My!

Someone is a little scared of thunder. He's been under there for over an hour now. He won't even come out for a dog treat. Come on... who doesn't like doggie treats!!!!! I guess I'll go get some dinner myself (unfortunately I am not a huge fan of dog treats. The whole "mystery meat in the shape of a mini steak" just doesn't do it for me!). I hope he's out when I get back. Poor pup.

Red Rocks

I figured it was time to prep Noah for all the shows coming to Red Rocks this summer. He practiced his cheering and then I showed him where he will be tailgaiting before each show. He can't wait! I am such a good aunt.
