Austin has an obsession with cleaning my car. Tonight I tried to help him but goodness! Do not mess with a man and his craft. All I heard was, "You don't have enough soap on the rag. You are just pushing dirt around. You missed a spot!" So... I threw down my rag and quit. If he wants to wash the car so it looks like a sparkly white brand new car then fine. I let him do his car washing and I did what I do best, I sat and watched while taking pictures. Here I was trying to make my lovely garden gnome looke like he was sitting on the car. I didn't have much to do while I admired his car washing skills, too bad he didn't do it in a bikini.

Cooking Class

Austin surprised me tonight with a little date. We went to cooking classes at Generous Servings which is in our neighborhood. It opened up about 6 months ago and we've been talking about going. Now that I think of it... I don't think he was doing it for a fun night out, I think he was doing it to tell me something. Hm... does this mean I don't cook enough? Oh well, he learned the same stuff as I did tonight so he can cook just as much as me.My mother is probably cringing at the fact Austin paid for cooking classes when my mom is a home economics gu-ru. Sorry mom. We made some wonderful chocolate chip cookies that are perfect for high altitude baking. We also made pasta and stir fry. It was all delicious.
I also learned how to properly hold a knife and even how to chop an onion the correct way. Wow, I'm growing up! I can't wait for the second half of our class. It's suppose to be next Tuesday but we'll be out of town so we have to catch up another month. The woman who runs the store is really nice and informative. She runs the cooking part and her sister runs the cafe that is attached. Look them up if you are interested, they have vegetarian classes and knife handling classes, the whole 9 yards! You can check out cook Mary on her blog about owning a small business here.

Pottery Class #1
Julia, Kristi & I are taking a pottery class through Colorado Free University. There are only 4 classes total and today was our first one. It was very fun. Today we learned about.... shoot, I forget already. You can see us working on our creations in the picture. Mine is the rectangular one. Next week we work on the potters wheel, that should be interesting!

The Red Stairs
We went for a hike up Devil's Head to hunt for the o-so special "red stairs" we heard about from fellow campers. We finally found them! The 147 steps lead up to the fire tower that was really high up. Caleb is the one standing on the corner of the tower. He was scouting for wildfires but it was a no-go so he enjoyed the views instead.
