Cooking Class

Austin surprised me tonight with a little date. We went to cooking classes at Generous Servings which is in our neighborhood. It opened up about 6 months ago and we've been talking about going. Now that I think of it... I don't think he was doing it for a fun night out, I think he was doing it to tell me something. Hm... does this mean I don't cook enough? Oh well, he learned the same stuff as I did tonight so he can cook just as much as me.

My mother is probably cringing at the fact Austin paid for cooking classes when my mom is a home economics gu-ru. Sorry mom. We made some wonderful chocolate chip cookies that are perfect for high altitude baking. We also made pasta and stir fry. It was all delicious.

I also learned how to properly hold a knife and even how to chop an onion the correct way. Wow, I'm growing up! I can't wait for the second half of our class. It's suppose to be next Tuesday but we'll be out of town so we have to catch up another month. The woman who runs the store is really nice and informative. She runs the cooking part and her sister runs the cafe that is attached. Look them up if you are interested, they have vegetarian classes and knife handling classes, the whole 9 yards! You can check out cook Mary on her blog about owning a small business here.
