Kickball!!

Through the grapevine Leah and I heard about a kickball team that was in need of some female team members. We do not know anyone on this team but we took it as our duty to join and complete the team. It is a huge kickball league that is a fund raiser for Easter Seals. So not only would we be playing for fun, we would be playing for a good cause.

Today was our first game and we were both nervous about not knowing anyone on our team. Turns out we had nothing to worry about. We drove into the parking lot and there were tons of teams in their bright team shirts drinking beer left and right. It looked like we were at a tailgaiting party. We found our team and everyone was so nice. I was worried about not knowing what I was doing but apparently the only thing you need to be able to do is hold a beer while kicking and running. And if someone kicks a foul ball the referee makes everyone drink. We had so much fun!! You could tell we were the new team members because we did not bring gloves. I quickly discovered that it's no fun to hold a cold beer when you are standing in the cold. Everyone else was very prepared with coolers and gloves and hats.

Tonight we played a team called Huevos Rancheros and we won! Now I am very excited that I commited every Thursday for the next two months to kickball! I can't wait for our next game.
